In August 2018 the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) made its submission to Australian Government’s Research Australia in relation to the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). The MRFF is a $20 billion investment in the health of Australians, our economy and the sustainability of our health system.
In its submission, FARE provides a response to two of the questions posed by Research Australia in relation to the MRFF:
- Is the current balance in spending between the different Strategic Platforms right? If not, how can the next Priorities be used to influence this balance? and
- Does research into Public and Preventive Health have a place in the MRFF? If so, what does this look like, and what should it fund?
